About Children with Special Health Care Needs (CSHCN)

Provides services to children with extraordinary medical needs, disabilities, and chronic health conditions.

Health care benefits include

• payments for medical care,
• family support services, and related services not covered by Medicaid, CHIP, private insurance or other third party payors.

Funds for this program are limited, and there may be a waiting list for health care benefits.

Provides

• needed medical services,
• adaptive equipment,
• prescriptions,
• rehabilitation services,
• transportation,
• meals and lodging.

Family support services are available to CSHCN to help with respite, vehicle modifications, and minor home modifications.

Case management services are also provided by social workers to help CSHCN access services and resources.

Hours of operation: 8:00 - 5:00 weekdays

Elegibility: Must be between the ages of 0-21, have a health condition, meet financial guidelines, and be a Tex
