About ASSIST / Crowley

Financial Assistance to Low income families to reduce the burden of home energy costs, medication, food and emergency voucher assistance for shelter, home repairs and improvements.

Programs operated by this agency are:

EMERGENCY VOUCHER ASSISTANCE is designed to provide assistance on a one-time basis to clients who have suffered a loss due to circumstances beyond their control when funds are available.

SHELTER HOME is a temporary shelter which offers meals, clothing, personal hygiene, job service, and medical assistance for women and children.

MEDICAID APPLICATIONS offers aid to families and individuals in applying for medical services through outreach by assisting potential Medicaid eligible persons to complete the application.

PHARMACEUTICAL ACCESS PROGRAM helps economically disadvantaged individuals defray the high cost of prescription drugs.

COMMUNITY FOOD and NUTRITION PROGRAM:

food items are made available to low-income families so as to maintain a balanced diet and reduce the risk of malnutrition among low-income families., TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN SMALL BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT are additional programs run by ASSIST in Acadia Parish as well as Housing Counseling.
