Mission:

To provide safe, decent and sanitary housing for families throughout Volusia County.

Overview:

• As the County s Public Housing Agency (PHA), the Community Assistance Division administers approximately 322 housing choice vouchers.
• The Housing Choice Voucher Program (Section 8) is the federal government major program which assists very low-income families including the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
• Since housing assistance is provided on behalf of the family or individual, participants are able to find their own suitable housing, including single-family homes, townhouses and apartments.
