Description

Community action agency for the Capitol Region, Middlesex County, and towns of Branford, Guilford, Madison and North Branford provides community based services for people who are economically disadvantaged in order to promote self-sufficiency

Elegibility:

Must be experiencing a non-recurring, unexpected, documentable hardship;

For financial assistance applicant must have received a notice to quit;

People who are behind in rent or mortgage payments but do not yet have a notice to quit or a foreclosure notice are eligible for mediation services only;

Must have income;

Income must be at or below 60% of the state median income;

Monthly rent/mortgage cannot exceed 60% of gross monthly income;

Must be able to pay the next month s rent;

Other restrictions may apply

Hours of operation:

M-F: 8am-4pm Apply at CRT offices in Hartford or Middletown; Cannot apply more than once in any 18 month period
