Description:To assist with rent, utility payments and food. Hours:Food Calls taken 12:00 pm-2:00 pm, Wed and Thurs. Utility and Rent Calls taken 9:30 am on Friday (limit of 10 calls taken) Intake procedure:Call During Appropriate Hours Eligibility:Food-Callers are served as the call comes in and must go to the SVDP Thrift Store to pick up their food. Rent/Mortgage-payment of first month s rent, payment of past due rent, past due mobile home and lot fee, rent due within 5 days, and one month s rent payment spread over 3-month period; Amount is limited to either $50 when SVDP funding is being used and $99 when FEMA funding is being used. Utility Assistance-payment of one month s gas/electric bill, load of firewood, delivery of coal, and fill-up of oil or propane tank; Amount is limited to either $50 when SVDP funding is being used and $99 when FEMA funding is being used. SCAN Room Volunteers can take 2 request for SVDP Utility or Rent help if they are eligible. The Thursday afternoon volunteer needs to fax those two requests to SVDP on Thursday afternoon. All clients needing help with food must still call SVDP themselves.
