The Homeless Prevention and Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) is a new initiative available through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The purpose is to provide prevention assistance to households who are homeless or who would otherwise become homeless-many due to the economic crisis.

Residents can get help with their power and gas bills twice a year.

While food assistance is available by emergencies only.
