The assistance may be used for the purchase or rental of sickroom equipment, dressings, or liquid diet.

Six week educational program for patients and family members.

Ostomy program provides information and brochures, emotional support group and non-medical counseling. Laryngectomy program provides pro and post-operative hospital visits to the patents.

Numerous support groups in cooperation with local hospitals include:

• Cancer Support Group,
• I Can Cope,
• Reach to Recovery,
• CanSurmount.

Physician referral may be necessary for certain hospital visitation programs.

The American Cancer Society may be able to arrange a low cost hotel room for those receiving cancer treatments.
