FAMILY SERVICES offers

• immediate limited assistance or referral to people in crisis situations, provides services for strengthening and enriching family life, and coordinates special events that create positive experiences for individuals and families.

Type of assistance available consists of

• gas vouchers for medical appointments only,
• prescription assistance up to $25,
• laundromat vouchers,
• bus tokens in an emergency,
• specific employment clothing, and clothing vouchers for the Goodwill.

Assistance is also provided to

• low-income,
• disabled, and elderly individuals in filling out Iowa rent reimbursement forms (appointments may be made by phone January-April).
• Family Services also oversees two educational scholarships awarded to Davenport residents, as well as a Vita Tax site.
