Description
A housing assistance program where the Federal Government
subsidizes part of the rent payments of very low-income families,
disabled and elderly persons who are able to locate their own
accommodations in the private sector. In the Certificate program,
generally 30% of the family s adjusted income is applied toward rent.
With the voucher, a family may pay more than 30% of income if the unit
cost is more than the payment standard.
