4) the removal of barriers to self-sufficiency;

5) facilitation of healthy family functioning; and

6) the empowerment of program participants to engage in self-advocacy.

Project Self-Sufficiency also seeks to prevent the continuation of poverty from generation to generation through a series of interventions that support and educate families while modeling successful behaviors by adults for children.
